Recipe Majoon Ki Mithai



Sno                    Ingredients                  Quantity

1                         Desi Ghee                    60gm 

2                         Khoya                          400 gms

3                         Cashew nuts                50 gms

4                         Almonds                      50 gms

5                         Coconut pwd               25 gms

6                         sugar                            200 gms

7                         Dry Dates                    200 gms

8                         Green cardamom         5-6

9                         Milk                            250 ml

10                      Poppy Seeds                20 gms


Methods

1) In a thick bottomed kadhai melt desi ghee ( clarified butter) and add grated khoya and roast for around 15 minutes. Add finely chopped dates cook for another few minutes.

2) Roughly chop dry fruits, soak poppy seeds in boiled milk for sometime, till poppy seeds swells.

3) Add coconut, dry fruits and poppy seeds and cook further for 10 minutes on a slow flame.

4) Add powder sugar and blend in well,add cardamom powder.

5) when the mixture began to thicken and leaves the sides, layer the mixture on a flat thali or tray ( thickness around 1.5 cm) let it cool for around 6 hrs, cut in to squares or diamonds and serve.
