Recipe Sindhi Sai Bhaji


Sno                     Ingredients                    Quantity

1                         Spinach                        250 gms

2                         Fenugreek leaves/ Methi 50 gms

3                         Dill Leaves                      50 gms

4                         chana dal                          100 gms

5                         Tomatoes                         60 gms

6                          Brinjal                             50 gms

7                          Ladies finger                   50 gms

8                          Onions   & ginger           50 gms

9                          Green chillies                   5 nos

10                        Garlic                               10 flakes

11                        coriander pwd                  2 tsp

12                        turmeric pwd                   1/2 tsp    

13                        Oil                                    60 ml

14                      salt to taste



Methods

1)  wash all the green leafy vegetables thrice in running water and chop them.

2)  finely chop onions and ginger, also chop green chillies and garlic.

3) Soak chana dal in water for around 2 hrs.

4) cut all vegetables in small dices.

5) In a thick bottom pot ( pateela or cooker) heat oil, add ginger and onions, saute for a minute.

6) Add green chillies and rest of vegetables and saute for 5 minutes, add a small amount of salt.

7) add soaked lentils and all green leafy vegetables, sprinkle coriander pwd and turmeric pwd.

8) add sufficient amount of water and salt., boil till the dal is tender and vegetables are cooked.

9) mash all the ingredients lightly ( this dish is neither dry or watery in texture). adjust seasoning.

10) serve tempered with garlic.
