Shakar Pongal

Shakar Pongal                                                Portion Size;- 4



Sno                  Ingredients                 Quantity
1)                              Rice                             1 cup
2)                              Moong dal                   ½ cup
3)                              Gur                              2 cup
4)                              Milk                             1 cup
5)                              Coconut                       ½
6)                              Elaichi Powder            2 tsp
7)                              Ghee                            ½ cup
8)                              Kaju                             20 gms
9)                              Kishmish                      20 gms



Methods

1)      Lightly roast dal, mix with rice. Boil with water till soft, mash it completely.
2)      Mix gur with ½ the volume of water; heat it gently to form thick syrup.
3)      In a kadhai add the mixture in hot syrup and mix it well, add milk continue cooking.
4)      Add eliachi powder, grated coconut.
5)      Gently fry kaju and kishmish in small amount of ghee and add it in to the mixture.
6)      Add the desi ghee, a small quantity every time, continue cooking till all the ghee is being consumed.
