RECIPE CHANA DAL TADKA

Chana Dal Tadka                                            Number of portions- 4



Sno            Ingredients                 Quantity
1                chana dal                    150 gms
2                turmeric pwd                         1 tsp
3                ginger                                     5 gms
4                sugar                           ½ tsp
5                coconut                      20 gms
6                mustard oil                 30 ml
7                red chilly whole         2-3
8                mustard seeds            1 tsp
1                                salt to taste
2        coriander leaves for garnish




Methods



1)      soak chana dal for 15 minutes. In sufficient water ( 2.5 times the dal v/v), chopped ginger, turmeric powder and salt, boil till tender.
2)      Cut coconut in to small thin pieces and fry in a little oil, add coconut in dal, add sugar and simmer for 5 minutes.
3)      Heat mustard oil in a kadhai, add mustard seeds and whole red chilies and spread it on top of dal.
4)      Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves
